There are a couple of sites that I'd like to listen to on my PocketPC 2003 Dell Axim via WiFi, for example some of the stations on the BBC (www.bbc.co.uk) and ChristianRock.Net

Normally I'd play ChristianRock.Net on my desktop WMP via the url http://www.christianrock.net/live/live365.asx but unfortunately I just get the message "Windows Media Player cannot play this file" on the PocketPC.

Is there any way round this???

I can play some stations, for example if it's on Shoutcast I can create a *.pls file and connect through GSPlayer.
Another station (Cross Rhythms) I can link to at mms://62.25.96.7/crbb which plays OK on WMP.

Any help would be gratefully received

Thanks

Bill

try http://www.pocketpcmedia.nl

this site has a lot of webradio links.
If you want to request a link, just send them an email or post on the forum.

That's cool. I did use Shoutcast and GSPlayer for awhile. I liked that you could search for songs that would be playing on stations. Plus the equalizer.

I listen to DI radio through www.pocketpcmedia.nl

The problem with DI radio is, that the server cannot handle a lot of connections. Therefore sometimes you get an error message on your pocketpc when this happens.

pocketpcmedia.nl is great as most of the ones I'd like have linked from that site. All I'm after now is BBC7 from the UK!

Interestingly enough there's a link to a asx file which plays on the PocketPC (www.premier.org.uk/streaming/premier.asx) so I assume it's what is in the asx file which makes the difference?!

Thanks

Further investigation has found http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/ which has a reference to BBC7 at ......

http://STREAM.SERVSTREAM.COM/ViewWeb/BBCRadio_music/Event/BBCRadio7_hi.asx

which plays OK on my PocketPC so I think I'm sorted for my WiFi listening for the moment!

Thanks for the contributions.

Pocketpcmedia has added BBC 7 to its webradio list.
You can find it on section Webradio -> UK
