I can beam documents or spreadsheets from an IBM Thinkpad laptop to PPC, but not from PPC to laptop. I've set up the laptop to receive beaming from other computers.

Anyone had same experience or know of a workaround?

Thanks.

Probably the easiest way to do this is to establish an infrared ActiveSync connection and copy the files that way.

Haven't tried it myself, but you may want to check out IRDash from Bitbank Software. It might suit your needs. I don't know if you need to install anything on the laptop side or not. You might even get Larry from bitbank to comment on it, he is on the forums now and then.

Let me know if it works.

I use Resco Explorer (http://www.resco-net.com/explorer.asp), and using that, it's easy to transfer between my iPAQ and my old laptop via IR. I'm sure there are others that let you do the same, but I find Resco does everything that I need it to do.

Sorry, forgot to mention I need to do this beaming to a work PC/laptop I do not and cannot ActiveSync on.

Just tried using Resco File Explorer to beam from PPC to ThinkPad and get the error: "Cannot connect to the OBEX device. It is either not accessible or does not support selected service."

Well, the laptop can beam to the Pocket PC just fine ! The plot thickens...
