start up crash

The battery of my ipaq 3950 went flat while on holiday. I charged it up, light flashing ok, when i restarted with a soft boot it went thru the start up pages until i got to it explaining about pop-up menus.
At this point there is no "Next" button for me to click. I now can't get any further thru the start up process and can't use my Ipaq at all.
I tried a hard boot but this didn't help either.
Does anyone know how I can remedy this situation?
Any help would be much appreciated

Hi there

Welcome to Pocket PC Thoughts

When you get to the pop up menu demonstration you need to actually do a tap hold on the calendar entry. Then, you'll get a pop up menu to select cut or copy from (can't remeber which and I don't feel like resetting my device to find out ;-))

Then you do a paste and the next button will appear.
