Dave -

No, I think it's real - I recall someone posting something simillar regarding the bulk purchase of x5 Paq's bound for Africa a while ago - although they were actually refused If memory serves?

I remember this too but I believe it was actually HP and not Dell. Well I guess we can't test our new WM2003 missle guidance software anytime soon huh?

Sceptic that I am, I checked both Dell and HP's site - looks like a hoax. I went all the way to the credit card entry pages on both sites (home and business) and neither site asked any of those questions, although Dell DID ask if the item would be exported. :|

So I was right then huh?

Surgical - Could it be that you're not in a place where such terms might apply? (Fishing a bit, I know - but they can ascertain that, right?) Don't know why - I get the impression that they're not spoofing here...

It's true. I live in Belgium and have ordered several business dell pc's, every time I have to answer those
stupid questions...Maybe it depends on where you order from ?

I dont think they know which IP is where, though. As IPs can be bounced anywhere on earth by using the various tools readily downloadable from the internet these days.

And of course any bonafide terrorists will not used a real IP when executing internet transactions ...

Well, I surf to Dell.be, so maybe there are different international pages
