Good God.

Using Office 2003 and Active-Stink 3.7 (previously 3.7.1) and my laptop is going nutz.

Word hangs, as well as Outlook 2003. Yes, I know Office 2003 (Word and Outlook 2003) are prolly unstable, but is anyone happy with Active-Stink 3.7.1?!

Thanks.

(knocking on wood) ActiveSync 3.7.1 works very decently for me. No hangs. I'm using Office XP on Windows XP. I do know people who use it fine with Office 2003 as well.

In other words, can you give more detail? Was it stable with 3.7 and Office 2003?

Yes, I think we need more information...

I have Office 2003 and ActiveSync 3.7.1 on my laptop, and both work flawlessly (for the most part... )

Same here. Working as well as any AS instance on my Tablet.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your responses.

Well, generally 3.7.1 seems to generally work okay with Office 2003, but, lately Word and Outlook 2003 have been hanging, sometimes never to return. Utilization spikes and Word (for example) will just not respond. The documents I'm working with can range from 1 MB to about 10MB+ occasionally.

What I did notice is that the Activesync icon remains green like it's synching when there is nothing going on, so it seemed as if it may be related to Activesync. I tried stepping back to 3.7 and it seemed a little more stable. Eventually I uninstalled Activesync and things have not hung in the last two days. I guess it could be a USB issue on my new Dell D800 laptop as it seemed to work okay on my older C600 with Office 2003 Beta 2 and Gold code. I believe I have the latest drivers and all service packs, etc. applied to Office XP.

Oh, also wanted to add another strange piece of inromation - occasionally when I double-click on a Word document to open it, nothing will happen.

Sorry this is far from scientific feedback. If noone has any ideas, I will reload AS and document what the conditions and symptoms are when it crashes.

Thanks.
