The E750 and the E755 are the same unit except that the E755 comes with some photo software.

The European version of the e750 comes with Bluetooth and no Wi-Fi. I don't know the reasoning behind this.

In order to connect usb devices to the e750/e755, you need the expansion pack. I got mine from Best Buy form about $40 last year. It said it was for the e740, but it's basically the same pack that they sell for the e750s now.

Doesn't seem to be the case - The e750 comes/came in two versions, Bluetooth or WiFi. I have the WiFi version with PPC 2002. The Bluetooth version was released later with PPC 2003 only. Well, at least in the UK.

I think there is also a cable available, but the x-pack is better as it's neater and has the VGA out port.

Toshiba also sells a USB host cable for the 740s/750s. You can buy it from their site. It also has a connection right on the cable for attaching your power supply. It sells for only $10. It basically serves the same purpose as the expansion pack, except without the VGA out.

And at a difference of $100 to $10 the cable is the better choice if you never want to do VGA out apps like powerpoint presentations.

would the cable work on an e805? Also, what can you connect to it?

I don't know, I don't have an 800. I would assume Toshiba has a cable for it too. The cable or the expansion pack allow you to utilize the usb host capability. This means that *some* usb peripherals will work. You need to have drivers for most of these. Some devices that work with drivers are usb mice, keyboards, and external (self powered) hard drives.
