How appropriate! I use timidity to stay FAR FAR AWAY FROM KARAOKE!

That's great, though I'm not sure this provides the same experience as being at a Karaoke bar with a bunch a friends and a few drinks.

Of course... put this on stage with the video hooked up to a monitor and the output connected to some loud speakers... if the MIDI doesn't sound too cheesy, it could be a cheap solution!

I can just see it now...

There I am sitting in a meeting with the president of one my clients. Tapping away on my PPC. What's that he says? Oh, it's not only a PPC, but also a portable Karaoke machine, do you want to sing with me? :Fade-color

I'm pretty certain the bonding that will ensue will help me close the deal we've been hammering out for the last 6 months!!

I guess we all sing along to the car radio, maybe with this some of us could get through the verse we always go nah, nah, nah to since we don't know the words. :D

This just might be THE killer app for airplane travel.

This just might be THE killer app for airplane travel.

Only if you mean that the person singing would get killed.

Can't you see it now...those long delays while stranded on a taxiway somewhere waiting for a gate to open at an airport that's been closed down for weather...

Who's next? Anybody want to do "Feelings?"

hee hee...

Cheers,
Pam

Now that you mention it, its funny but I have seen a real world example. In my company's giving campaign recently there was this thing where you could donate money to make the bigwigs like VPs etc sing karoake if the total money collected reached a certain amount :) And you bet we did make it that much. So here we were laughing away to glory listening to some of the hilarious singing of the VPs at the party and the Karoake teleprompter that was being used went bust. So then I find someone from the audience get up and give his XDA to the person on stage for the karaoke lyrics :D

Just do a search. This site was at the top of the list: http://www.midikaraoke.com/home/_KAR/_kar.html . I'm downloading a couple Stevie Wonder songs to see how they work.
