I have never owned a toshiba pocket pc before, but my trusty Jornada 568 finally decided to quit working, and I had to choose a new pda at Best Buy. I thought the e7xx series were well put together, but not very eye-pleasing. I couldn't help but order the e805 when I read about the awesome display on this site along with links to reviews on other sites.

Can others out there that have an e805 tell me about the joys and new ppc wonder that they have experienced since recieving their new Toshi?

I should be getting mine before Christmas, and have already downloaded the Resfix program. What else do I need to prepare for 640x480?

You will want the "VGA dead zone" fix too! :D http://discussion.brighthand.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=96209

Ebook reading and internet browsing are the two most dramatically apparent wonders of VGA in a PPC. But you'll be amazed at the huge increase in information/content per screen in other apps too, like in your contacts list (I'm using PI, and even with the fonts increased, about 3 times as many contacts appear per screen in VGA).

You're also going to want VGA sized themes. Here are two good links for those, if you haven't found them already: http://www.pocketpcparadise.com/pages/textures_wm2003_vga.htm

I must be the odd man out, I still haven't done the resfix/deadzone thing yet after a week. I have to say that even in normal mode, this is the best screen out there.

Having CF and SD is a great plus too. I can have my Pharos GPS in the CF and the Maps on the SD card. What a bonus.

The only drawback might be the sheer size of it, but hey, I can deal with that.

The built in WiFi is flawless and actually gets a better signal than my laptop at times. Gotta love this PPC.

You won't be sorry you got the 805, guaranteed!

Bill, while I love my ebooks and internet in VGA, I do still keep my e805 in QVGA mode for most other uses. That will probably be the case until there's a way to easily switch the size of system fonts, and even more importantly, the Today screen fonts, right along with the resolution switch. In this regard I often think I'm the "odd man out" too over at the Brighthand e800 forum, because most seem to be VGA 100% of the time users. They must have younger eyes than me!

However, just the sight of a gorgeous VGA sized Today screen theme is really worth the bother for me, even if I only have it in that mode a small portion of the time!
