Anyone done an upgrade to PPC 2003 on a 3870?

Was it worth it, how did it work, any gotchas??

Thanks :)

I've upgraded my 3850....it was really pretty simple and it runs so sweetly now. Biggest plus is Media PLayer which no longer freezes. Outlook calendar is also a lot better. Generally it just seems to be a little bit faster although you could live without these improvements if you had to.

Happy Xmas :D

COOL... just what I was out after :-) I was wondering if I could upgrade my Ipaq 3850... there was no problem at all ?

When I search for an upgrade (stores) I find only for 3870 but not for the 3850... or is it the same upgrade I should be using ?

It is not the same upgrade -- the BT one will refuse to install on a non-BT device, and vice-versa. HP's Shopping site has both upgrades. This (http://h30094.www3.hp.com/product.asp?sku=2411862) is the one you want.

In response to lm3870: I upgraded my old 3870 without any hitches -- the process goes just like a standard ROM update. The nicest improvement, IMHO, is that the 3870 with Pocket PC 2003 now has the latest Bluetooth drivers and user interface, including the wizards and everything. As for Pocket PC 2003 itself, most changes are minor, although as another poster said WMP9 is a nice update. Plus there is better WiFi support, PIE is substantially improved, there's SSL support in Inbox, etc.
