Kendall has taken the initial work done by Jacco Bikker and created a 12-level version of the game, for free!

Do I ever LOL ! I used to work for Psygnosis and remember sending out the royalty cheques to these guys. Wow ! Seem to remember we all got very drunk at Stringfellows and met some Swedish girls .... but that's another thread for sure :0). Pure genius. Great to see it again !

would be cool if we could re-create the old levels.

lemmings in space? that's a little too unrealistic for me ;)

Hehehe... yay! love this game... Now here's to a couple of months, ironing all the bugs out, 50 more levels and if you post a version 2.0 on handango for say $5-10 i'll probably buy it! :)

I'm sure you could have the original levels on it, but that would require taking a screenshot of each level, which can be quite big.

I tried to install it and my PPC spontaneously hard reset itself. I have no idea why, but I won't make THAT mistake again. :(

Could it be that you don't have the right processor for the version that you installed?

I get "can't find graphics files" :( Too bad too. I love Lemmings. :(

First, this one works on my iPaq 5555. SO I guess that would mean it works on WM2003.

Second, the graphics not found message TELLS you something! ;) If you look at the title bar, it's looking for these files in \My Documents\lemmings. SO copy all of the files to a lemmings directory in My Documents (IN RAM). Include the EXE. Then run the exe and it should load or at the very least pop up a dialog looking for the DAT file. Point it at the dat in the lemmigns folder and your set. Great fun.....harder with a stylus.

In reference to the "Can't find graphics file", just get a registry editor, and update the registry to point to the location you copied the files to. I have mine in \PRogram Files\Games and it works just fine.

Just update the animpath and path registry values in the \\HKLM\Software\Professor Oak\Lemmings key.

Hi,

My first post :) .

I just complete re-build the game for PPC 2003. It is working well on my ipaq 2215.

Before submit the code back to "Kendall Redburn: [email protected]". Any one with PPC version 2003 would like to test it? - Send me a private message, i will forward you the latest version.

Change to this release:
a) The game can be installed anywhere (on CF, SD card etc).
b) No more anoying "Can't find graphics file"
c) sounds folder is included.

Thanks
Thanh

First of all, the 1.1 version worked fine in my WM2k3 device but the new 1.3 version didn't. I rolled back to 1.1 and it works fine again.

With respect to new levels - for those of you that haven't read the docs yet you'll find that you can create new levels yourself. I'd love to see a bunch of user created levels come out. Lemmings has long been one of my favorite games.

With respect to converting the original levels - theoretically possible but probably not legal to distribute them to anyone that doesn't own the original game. I suppose you could sit in front of your computer and try to create levels similar to the original without violating copyright if you distribute them.

With respect to eventually putting it on Handango - probably not possible legally unless he gets permission from Psygnosis. I suppose he could change the name, alter the graphics a little bit, change the tools a smidge and pretend like it isn't Lemmings. I've gotta say though that Lemmings is a game I'd buy given the option - all the better that it's free.

I just grabbed qhat appears to be the latest version for WM2003 from the site (v1.1.4, hmmm.... where's this talk of v1.3 coming from??) :?:

It runs on my ipaq 1930, but I needed to manually patch the registry to get it to run from the SD card.

I never really got into Lemmings the first time around, time to change that! 8)

I tried making a level and I can't get the image to save in the proper format to display in the game. :( Even using a demo version of the software provided via link. :(

Oh well. :(

I wrote another port of lemmings from original by Jacco Biker.
But my game support original lemmings levels. You can download and try it.
