19xx series cradle - extra battery charger

I know that it is impossible to overcharge the battery when charging it in the iPAQ itself.

Does anyone know if the same rule applies when charging a backup battery in the battery charging slot of the 19xx series cradle?

I can't imagine why it would be different, the mechanism that protects from overcharging is in the charger not the battery or the ppc.
