So Jason -- considering the few years you have under this site and the wealth of information that has come from it, and a lack of NDA, why not publish a magazine? Of all the handheld magazines, I think you'd be able to capitalize from all the information is given to you and is discussed here. It could also give you a different revenue stream. Come on, how about it?

Absolutely no freaking way. 8O

I know quite a bit about online publishing, but very little about the print world. I do know enough, however, to understand that the hard costs (printing + distribution). As your hard costs rise, so does your need for larger revenue streams, which means you have to work even harder to find advertisers and financial support. I'm finding the latter to be a constant challenge as-is.

Anyway, in a way we ARE a magazine - just an online one. People subscribe (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/subscribe.php), and they get special benefits that non-subscribers do not (like getting every story delivered to your inbox).

Print also doesn't have the immediacy of the online world, and the content we publish here would be much less valuable if you were reading it a month after the fact. It would require a complete change in the way we do things, because you have to compensate for the lack of immediacy with ultra-detailed writing and reviewing.

Thanks for the idea though.

PPC magazine does well for what it is... essentially outdated news plus some ads and articles. Unfortunately print can't keep up with online media like this. I'd vote to not do any printed materials, just keep up the top notch work with this and other Thoughts Media endeavors. :)

I agree,

My neighbor gets PPC magazine....I recently leafed through his November Edition. It was full of information that we as an online group had known about since September....just sad.

On a lighter note though, reading up here daily has given me the reputation as a Pocket Pc Guru.....which of course, I'm only to happy to accept.
