I know this program is free, but there has got to be a better program out there than keyguard, even if I have to pay for it.

I use an ipaq 3970, and first off keyguard doesn't lock out the record button. I use a leather flip case for the ipaq, and I keep it in a breast pocket of my evest. I take it out to notice that my battery is half drained!
I played around a little bit, and noticed that with keyguard activated, if I am touching the screen when a hardware button is pressed, the device does not power down. If I continue to hold my finger or stylus against the screen, the unit locks up, requiring a soft reset. But, if I have it in my pocket while a device key is inadvertently pressed, the cover pressing against the screen locks up the device, and it won't ever shut down until the battery is drained.

someone pleeez help.
do you know of any other program that will lock the hardware keys without these problems? Or, can anyone verify that the WM2003 upgrade for the 3970 does, indeed, include this feature as PPC2002 should have?

Yes, PPC2003 does allow you to disable having hardware buttons power on the device.

On a 3970, to be precise? I know for a fact that while the 5550 has it, the 3870 does not.

I don't know about the 3970, I disabled it on my e755 and I thought it would be a general PPC2003 feature since it was in the settings --> power section.

No, it is specific to each device. Both Jornadas that I had, had this feature (548, and 568). But for some reason the ipaq's didn't.

Is there anyone out there that has a 3970 upgrade, that can verify this added feature for me?

I guess I should have named the subject of this post more appropriately, to attract 3970 owners.

The old saying goes....if you want something done right.....

I guess I should just learn how to program, so I can write programs like this myself.
