I recently got a Tosh e755 and love it. :) The only thing I regret about leaving the Palm OS behind is losing my trusted app friend - HandyShopper.

I cannot tell you how it helped me with my Christmas shopping - and as it's that time of year again I really need a replacement for HandyShopper. I have downloaded several list managers but none of them are as simple, and yet as powerful, as HS.

Does anyone know what the closest thing out there to HS is? It is HS's simplicity that makes it so useful. I have found ShopEZ (freeware) to be quite close but it is rather more difficult to add items and one cannot see a running total on the main screen for each list.

Thanks!

You can try VOShoppingList (http://www.voscorp.com/asp/ppc/voshoppinglist/default.asp), it may do what you need...

I tried VO Shopping List and Pocket Shop. The Pocket Shop was much better and easier to use.

I use it for grocery shopping as well as for my Christmas and other shopping needs.

Pocket Shop comes with a Desktop version that make getting you list ready a snap. Just syc your PDA with your desktop and vola you have your list on you PDA

You can find Pocket Shop info at www.sdmventures.com

Suggestion: ListPro

I got over my Palm Vx in about 3.2 minutes.

another vote for listpro.
It's sort of like their add says- Why buy a bunch of other tracking software, when you can do it all with listpro.
It's not cheap at 29.95 (for the professional version that includes the desktop version), but there isn't much you can't do with it.

Speaking of which, I use an older version of listpro, and the lists on the site don't work with it. Does anyone know of a discount on this program other than the 15% off handango purchases for subscribers?

This is another software that I've been holding off on buying to see if they offer any discounts this holiday season. I'm a big fan of SplashShopper for the Palm and really hope they come out with it for the PocketPC eventually. Theoritically, if ListPro handles shopping lists well it's a no-brainer as it does many other list types as well.

I, too, was frustrated by lack of a good shopping program when I moved from a Palm device to a Pocket PC.

I tried several programs before settling for "Pocket Shop." So, after a trial, I purchased a license for "Pocket Shop." I used it for several months, and liked the Pocket PC application. However, "Pocket Shop's" desktop companion kept having problems. It would occasionally crash, losing its newest data. Even when it didn't crash, data entry could be frustrating: awkward to use, not accepting certain characters, synchronzing problems, etc.

Finally, I gave up on "Pocket Shop." It had become more trouble than it was worth.

Then, I took a second look at "List Pro." Originally, I had eliminated that program because I was using "HanDBase" on my Palm, and converted to "HanDBase" for Pocket PC.

After trying "List Pro" as a shopping database, I loved it. In fact, I liked it so much, that I converted all my other database programs from "HanDBase" to "List Pro."

thank goodness for the "search" function :) i'm so glad that there are others who miss handyshopper.

will check out the trial versions of the software suggested in this thread, see what's good.

considering that the last post was about a year and a half ago, any new suggestions?

One suggestion. Check out the PPC alpha version of Handyshopper (by the same developer).
