I need the PPC 2002 upgrade CD for my wife's iPAQ 3650. After a hard reset she lost the Media Player and now we can't get it back for anything and we've lost our original CD.

Help! If I can't get this working, I'll have to buy her a new PDA!

Edit: I was wrong. After actually reading the page I linked to, you must install it from the CD. (Oops.) How annoying. I can't help you with the CD and it's probably not legal for anyone else to provide a copy, either.

You can download the Media Player update for upgraded iPAQs from this page (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/software/pocket/playerupdate.aspx) at Microsoft without needing a copy of the upgrade CD.

By the way, welcome to Pocket PC Thoughts!

Dave,
Thanks for the info. I didn't consider the legality of the request, I hope I didn't create any problems. I've contacted HP for help, since the "fix" they have posted on their website only works if you already have version 8 already installed - then their fix makes 8 work better.

Their advice was to go to my original CD... No idea where it is, but I guess I'll have to keep searching.

Thanks again.

2 words... e Bay.

You can often find the upgrade CD on eBay for well under $30.
