Hi all,

Considering the intermittent BT issues in 5450 which disconnects after certain period of data transfer between the 5450 and other BT devices, can anyone tell me which BT enabled GPS does work with the 5450?

I have set my mind on the Navman 4400 since it's mapping software is very nice, but I am not sure if it'll work with the 5450 BT.

If anyone have experienced with these BT GPS and 5450, please let me know. Thanks:

1. Navman 4400
2. Socket BT GPS
3. Emtac (not sure if correct name)

FYI, here's the info on my BT driver / firmware:

Firmware Version : 1.5.6 - 1.6.8
Hardware Revision: LMX9814V4.6
Driver Version : 1.4.1.58
Software Version : 1.4.1.58
Module Release Date: 08.11.2002

Thanks.

I've been using the Wireless TomTom Navigator USA product for about 4 months now and love it on both my 5455 and 1945. I have never had it disconnect either device/ had the device disconnect from it, the entire time I have been working with it.

I am in the process of wrapping up a review of it and the TTN Wired GPS for pocketnow.com. It should go live just before the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Chris,

Can't wait to see the review of TTN! :D

Can you tell me:

1. Where did you buy TTN USA?
2. Does your 5455 have WM2003 or PPC2K2?

I saw lots of BT GPS at Fry's electronic, such as the Socket BT GPS, Pharos, Navman, etc, but not TTN. At least if I bought it at Fry's and it doesn't work, I can exchange / return it.

Anyone else would like to contribute?

Currently, my 5455 is running WM2003, but I was running PPC 2002 during the TTN USA beta. TTN runs well on both platforms.

I got both wired and wireless units as beta and review units. TTN USA can be purchased from a number of online sources. I can tell you with 100% certainty that it will run on your 5400 without issue.

The only thing you're going to have to remember to do is to exit the application BEFORE you turn off the receiver if you're using the wireless receiver. That way, you'll avoid some of the issues that were discovered and logged regarding BlueTooth and TTN.

The thing you have to remember, is that the problem you have about regarding the TTN BlueTooth GPS Receiver are NOT limited to the TTN Wireless Receiver. The problem you may have heard of is an OS level issue. If you have WM2003 and have NOT installed the BlueTooth update for the 5400, then you need to do that before you give TTN some serious use...
