iPAQ 1935 and infrared remote compatability

My iPAQ 1935 does not work with any currently available 3rd-party infrared remote software. When I install them, open the program, and push a button, it just gives me a message that it can not find my infrared COM port. Or the screen shuts off and the power button light blinks.

Does anyone know about why this happens? Is there a way to go around it? Is there any infrared remote software compatable with it? Please help.

The iPAQ is not broken.

The 1935 does not have a consumer grade IR port. . It's only useful for transferring data between PDAs over short distances of around 1 to 3 feet.
