The company I work for has a closed computer system. They get all upset if I try to add on hardware. They have a CF Card Reader as part of the equipment, but my PPCPE of course has a SD Card. Is there some type of CF card where I can slide the SD card inside of it and then insert it into the company's CF card reader? I tried doing a search on the forums, but I didn't have much luck. Any info would be appreciated!

Let us know if you get one...I've been thinking of getting one of these for my laptop and using a cf/pc card converter. Plus, it'd be neat to be able to use both of my SD cards at the same time. 8)

Conversely does any one know of a CF to SD card adapter where one could plug a CF card into a SD adapter that fits into a SD slot. Two downsides I could see are the larger size of a CF would make the CF card stick out of a SD device unless it had a thin housing like some of the CF sleeves or it could fold over. Second I dont understand the device logic required of CF card verses a SDIO card. So if you had a special CF card like a GPS CF a PPC or Palm device would require a special driver. If it was straight memory transfer I would think you would not have an issue, otherwise it seem like a problem. Anybody have any thoughts on this issue/capability???? I am all ears and ready to learn....

I have not seen any yet. And I have no clue if it's possible -- one would need to account for the fact that CF has more "pins". Some intelligent powered media bridge, perhaps?

To the best of my knowledge, I believe there's electrical incompatibilities in doing this, so only memory is translatable. A SD-to-CF adapter (e.g., in a CF slot) will not support SDIO as it is.

I remember seeing one over a year ago in a store in Hong Kong. I believe it was made by Panasonic. It was very expensive but as I said that was over a hear ago.

I thought I had seen a website that carried adaptors and one of them was a cf to sd slot converter. Now i wish I would have saved that website. They had a few different converters.

I have the Mittoni adapter mentioned in the post above. It works as advertised. I haven't used it that extensively, but I got it so that I could put by digicams SD card into my HP printer P1000 which only supports CF or MMC. This enables me to print pics directly from the card without having to use a pc application.

I guess as SD cards continue to get more affordable I would consider using it in the CF sleeve as a 2nd storage card when not using Wi-Fi card.
