I've been said the XDAII (TSM500 in Spain) camera is also able to function as a barcode scanner with some specific software. Can Anybody tell me whether this is possible and which is the programmes I would need for this purpose??

Hello matey, I am not aware that this is the case. On all the other devices that have had an infra red port on the device none to my knowledge have been configured to work in this way. I also know there there are some companies out there that specialise in this kind of solution by attaching a barcode scanner onto the bottom of the device.

On the XDA / Qtek etc, this was only achievable through the 22 pin bespoke connector on the bottom because the SD slot did not support SD IO ( could only read data, not real time input output ). The new device however does not have this limitation. Whether there is something out there that can configure the device...it may be possible, but the reasons that it hasnt been done is probably to do with the beam of light and catching the reflections from the barcode ( I think the infrared aperture on the device is just too small for this ).

Hope this helps and if I am proved wrong...great, please post the info cos I know a lot of people that would be interested in this.
