A source of increasing irritation:
I install certain classes of programs to my IPAQ SD card. I like to back the cards up to ease the greif of upgrading to a larger card (or recovering from a failed card). Some time ago I noticed that the something in the installation process began putting a "." at the end of the installation directory. My desktop file manager would not look at files in such a directory. To do the backup I had to rename the directory on my IPAQ, move the card over to a reader, copy it into the PC storage area, and reverse the sequence to make it run-able on the IPAQ again.
In some cases I can rename the directory on my IPAQ and change the shortcut name to eliminate the problem. This won't work of course if there is any knowledge of installation dirctory name by related components installed in other directories.
Anyone know what is going on here - and whether it can be fixed?
