If I just put my Lexar 256 MB SD card on my iPAQ 1945, I'm not using the files there, but the card is plugged in.

Does it consumes battery?

Just like anything else once it is plugged in it will consume power even if it is minimal. SD cards will not affect your PPCs battery life in any way noticable. I leave mine in all the time, it's nothing to worry about.

Thanks.

And when you start to use it.

Like if I'm listening to my mp3's.

Does it consumes much more?

Yes.

Yes.
Yes, but primarily because your iPAQ's processor will be working harder. The power drain in accessing SD memory is also minimal.

How long can I listen to music in my iPAQ 1945 using the WMP with screen off and headphones?

I don't know about the 1945's battery specifically, but I can take the dog for a good hour-long walk and still have 93% battery left on my 5550 when I get home, listening to WMP the whole time. I'd assume the same ballpark figure for similar-generation devices.
