Of course, he managed to review the device months before any of us in North America will see it, but such is life. There are lots of screenshots of the Windows Mobile for Pocket PC Phone 2003 interface, including the MMS composer, so check it out! Oh, and did I mention I want one? ;)

I want one with Jabra Freespeak!

Now, it might be time to eBay my 2210 soon.

I wonder how the IPAQ 6000 will stack up against this powerhouse.

They can be had for $850 + $50 shipping to anywhere in the US in a week or two:

Unlocked, will work with any SIM card (AT&T, T-Mobile, Cingular, etc.)

I'm getting my XDA II in two weeks. $900 is a lot, yes, but it will be worth it to have it three months early. :)

Well, I bet breakage insurance is going to shot up after XDA become available.

I'm hanging on for the HP iPaq 6000 (or any device for that matter) that supports phone, WiFi and BT all in one. Dell is supposedly going to have an offering too in 2004.

Of course, the lack of an antenna like on the XDA II is appealing to me as is the expansion possibilites. Phone PocketPC's tend to be left out of the expansion market. A CF slot option would be the only PocketPC phone to have the ability. I wonder how big the expansion device is. Hopefully smaller than an iPaq jacket. Though I would prefer built in WiFi, I used an SD WiFi card on the Samsung I700 and it worked reasonably well so I would consider the XDA II. Plus, 128MB memory is very useful. The iPaq 6000 is supposed to have only 64MB.

I wonder though. It has a headset profile for calls. I wonder if it can also redirect PDA audio (not the phone audio) as well like my iPaq 5555 can.

But, in any case, I can wait another two-three months. I expect T-Mobile to pick them up soon enough and will probably be much cheaper :)

Mmmmm, i'm getting that warm tingely feelling. I cant wait. I wish Expansys would list their price: http://www.expansys.us/product.asp?code=106055&asource=

The video out option on the sled will rock. I now have a reason to mount a small LCD in my Mini's console for GPS and games. I was thinking about a small Via Epia motherboard (http://www.viavpsd.com/product/epia_m_spec.jsp?motherboardId=81) setup for this purpose, but the XDA II will be so much cooler. [/url]

I have no idea why I need a CGA out sled on a handphone, but I want it... 8)

This will make torturing people with family trip picture slide show that much more portable and evil.

Oddly enough it seems to lack a Bluetooth Serial Profile...which means no Bluetooth GPS connection among other things.
I wonder if the standard WidComm stack would fix this?

Not to me! I'd rather wait a few months and save a couple hundred dollars.

Not to me?! I'd rather pay a couple of hundred dollars and get a few months extra use out of it.

Support profiles: Serial Port profile, Dial-up Networking profile, Headset profile and Generic Objects Exchange profile.

It does have a Serial Port profile! It's missing the File Transfer profile. If there were no serial port profile, it couldn't connect to ActiveSync. I guess you can send/recieve business cards, contacts, and appointments but not files.
I wonder if you can recieve and not send files or vice versa or none of the above. Why there's no File Transfer profile, I have no idea! It's kind of disappointing.

So is it worth the $828 ??? In my personal opinion “Yes” because you will be spending almost the same amount of money (or even more) to have all of these features such as a camera, a phone and a high-end Pocket PC with this amount of internal memory and loaded applications. Here it is all in one powerful package. Once you try something powerful you never look back.

I think the only way I can avoid pining away for this device is to stop reading all the reviews on it. The more I read, the more I want one.

Yesterday, I read that they won't reach the US until 2004. Wa-a-a-ah!

I like the price of $580 I saw on one site also. Maybe by 2004, the price drop will come that low.

Does this mean you won't be able to file transfer through bluetooth PERIOD or just not with the included file manager?
