http://www.madebywhitney.com/

Many of you veteran iPAQ users will know about Whitney Lubean and his series of specially modified cases to include a CF slot. They've been extremely popular over the years, due to their extremely svelte form factor, excellent construction, and overall they've been the most compact way to get a CF slot in a 3xxx or 5xxx iPAQ.

I suspect demand is diminishing, as he's retiring the product. All existing stock will be sold for $55, so if you've been thinking of a Whitney CF case for your iPAQ, now is the time to jump on the offer while it still lasts.

The case has been one of the best purchases that I made for my iPAQ 3835 and has lasted through two years of extream punishment. Sorry to see the product fade away. :(

Silver Slider's George Mossquera is halting production of the Silver Slider series, also. A short while ago, I requested a custom made slider that would fit inside my "naked" model Piel Frama case; George was kind enough to make it for me and during out online correspondence, mentioned that he was "moving on". By the way, the modified Sliver Slider works and fits perfectly. There just aren't many craftsmen left nowadays.

More like there aren't many PPCs that fit sleeves nowadays. I know, I know, the iPAQ 5000 series is a new one that does.

But the 2200 series doesn't. The 4000 series doesn't. The 6000 series is supposidly based on the 2200 form factor so it won't.

Maybe they sold what they could to who wanted them, and now there is no new market for them.

That's a bummer. His work was definitely unique. But with the advent of SDIO and the cost of cheaper SD, the writing was on the wall.

We still have some black cases left. There are no more brown. If you still want one you will need to hurry.

Thanks,
