Anyone have a more definitive release date for the ipaq 4350 yet?

According to this link from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000DBJV5/qid=1067276627/sr=8-3/ref=sr_8_3/103-2991559-9886211?v=glance&s=electronics&n=507846) it won't be shipping until Jan 4 2004.

That seems wrong to me, I remember reading that it was to follow the 4100 by about a month.

I sure hope not. I'd really like to see it under the tree this year.

Darn - I hope my e740 lasts that long, or it's e805 time!

Just noticed that Handheld Canada (http://www.handheldcanada.com/Main.asp?D=%7B42832D99%2D2237%2D4871%2D866D%2DA0A9EA2691D7%7D&PageType=Product&SKU=HP0085) has the 4350 listed on their pages with a ETA of Nov 28.

I called HP and Ecost and they said the release day was Nov 10th and 11th, but that was a week ago, so I am not sure if it still holds up..

Well, Tek-n-Toys says Nov 26th now (per an email) and while ecost claimed Nov 13 earlier last week, they now say they have no reliable date as of this afternoon. :(

Nice! I placed mine too. Got a little jumpy when I saw the front page "Featured Product" on PPCT was the 4350 with a price of $429 from Mobile Planet. If you click the link you get the $499 though.

Call me crazy, but I just ordered the HP iPAQ 4355 from HPShopping with next business day air ($50 ouch!) using their 12 month same as cash plan. The bummer is I will have to wait until I get home tomorrow night to use it since they can't deliver to my work when you use their financing plan. There was no tax so if I would have bought it here in Washington I would have paid that much just for the tax anyway.

So look for a first impressions review on Monday at PDAGeek.com and I'll try to post a thread here and answer questions people may have about the device. I am so excited to get this device because of the thumb keyboard and integrated wireless options. This device is a peer to my UX50 and I hope it lives up to my expectations. I do have 30 days to decided if I want to keep it or not and if I do keep it then I will probably have to do something with my 2215 since I don't think I can really afford to keep both.

Got mine today!!! Love it. Old habits are hard to break though. First thing I did when it asked for the "owner's information" was pull out the stylus and start pecking at the on screen keyboard. This coming from somebody that's used a BlackBerry for the last 6 months. Only took me a couple of lines to realize, I didn't need the stylus. Yipee!

Nowhere as large as I thought it would be. Thankfully. Does need an aftermarket case in a bad way. The case that ships keeps turning on the unit from the pressure (it sandwiches between the 2 pieces of the case with some elastic in the middle to keep it tight. Too tight in this case.).

It's a HUGE disaapointment that HP has decided not to ship this device to EMEA. There's a huge market for this device here...

There might be a huge market there, but I think you'll likely be happier with the second generation of this unit. It's a huge leap forward on the input front for PPC, but it's a bit rough yet. Some things that come to mind are mostly software related issues like: when the cursor is in a number field (like a phone number or calculator) the number keys should be the primary active keys, should be able to num lock, blue might not be the easiest color to see on a keyboard in the dark, scroll wheel missing, no CTL key (at least I can't find it and I need it for SSH).

It's a good unit and it is by far and away my favorite iPaq ever. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it. I might keep my BlackBerry instead. For sending and receiving email and repsonding, nothing beats it yet.
