Does anyone do this as a living or for fun? I like doing it to cars! :D

Heres a little taste of what I did to this oh so unspecting Jeep:

Like I said:

"For Fun"

I love to draw cars, and I am very artistic, this is expanding my mediums!

Haha! I love photoshop!

Never really got into Photochopping tho.
Mostly photo-manipulations for brochures/websites etc. and even then it's usually just cropping out an element or something...

Any comments on my "chop" of the unsuspecting jeep?

I know that this isnt the cleanest chop that I have done, it was done in about 25minutes. Thats it, very small time considering.

Just one comment. You forgot to remove the roof rack on the left side. (The right top when looking at it.)

Oh, actually two. The rims are fuggly! :?

That's cool. I'm a VW/Audi kind of guy and there are always lots of Photochopped versions of potential new models whenever something new is soon to arrive. I'm sure there are of other brands too but I don't check them out so much.

I've never had much luck with Photoshop. Because I used to do a lot of web graphics, I use Fireworks much more. My car efforts from the past would not be good enough to even think about posting here.

Justin, you are going to go FAR

And I don't just mean regarding your post count either!

Now, how much do you charge for a commission? :D

PS - Wheels on the first Jeep should be at least twice the width; on the jack job, would be nice if you super'd some under-pinnings from a big foot;)

That red Seat is one cool looking car. I assume it's built on the VW Polo platform, looks a bit small to be built on the new Mk5 Golf.

It's a shame VW doesn't bring some of their smaller models over here. I think they'd sell pretty well, especially with young people.

I believe so too, its the Spanish division of VW, called Seat (interesting name) and the model is the Salsa, Spanish for Sauce. Here is some more info and pics!

http://www.ritzsite.net/RAI01CON/Seat_Salsa_Emocion_2000_f3q.JPG
http://www.ritzsite.net/RAI01CON/Seat_Salsa_Emocion_2000_r3q.JPG

Another combination car: the Seat Salsa Emocion by the Spanish division of Volkswagen. Like many concepts presented in 2000 it's supposed to be a space car, an off-roader and a sports car in one. And like many of these cars it bears some similarity to a suppository.
Apparently this is a development of the earlier Salsa (Spanish for sauce) concept and for some reason it now has become an "emotional sauce". Seat calls this type of cars "Multi Driving Concept" and in this case three driving modes can be selected by a switch on the dashboard: street, sport and off-road. Each choice influences things like ride height (this car features a pneumatic variable height suspension system), automatic gear changes, power steering, what is shown on the instrument panel and on the video displays which can display images from cameras placed on the car.

The Salsa Emotion has a four wheel drive system with a Haldex central differential. It's propelled by a stock 2.8 litre V6 engine delivering 250 hp and 297 Nm torque @ 3200 rpm. To this engine an automatic 5-speed transmission is attached, which also allows sequential Tiptronic gear changes by controls on the steering wheel. Top speed is 233 kph and acceleration from 0-100 kph is possible in just under 8 seconds.
Like most modern concepts this car offers a wide range of electronic gadgets as driving aids, for added safety, for communication and in-car entertainment. In addition to that the (easy to clean) interior is fitted with a water cooler and two folding micro-scooters are fitted in the rear (quite a change from a spare wheel).
Again, cars like these don't appeal to me. The only emotion I feel when looking at this car is indifference.

As for design, I love these little guys, apparently my view is a lot different from what the guy I quoted from said. I think these are cool little forms of transportation, plus it saves the environment because they are more fuel efficient. The above is the more all terrain model, the Emocion, a cool variant I say! :D

Bah. Far too little for the price - at least the last version I used. GIMP is so much nicer.

I use The GIMP, and it's not the same featurewise. You can say Photoshop is overkill, but crap is incorrect.

qmrq,

How can you say that Photoshop is crap? What you can do in it is amazing, you just have to read the manual and look through all of the tutorials on the internet etc, and you will find out that it is such a well rounded and packed full of features. Maybe for you, you perfer GIMP, (Whatever that would be) but have you ever, honestly, downloaded the demo and tried it out, or are you basing your opinion on what others have said?

I love Adobe Photoshop 7.0 (the version I have) and I cannot wait untill 8.0 comes out! This is one serious photo editing product - and maybe one day I can prove to you that in my works :D

'Crap' is a bit strong I'll admit. I find GIMP more customizable, and more powerful overall. It's also cheaper. ;)

The last version of Photoshop I played with was 5 or 6.

Indeed, there was a period of stagnation around v4 that lasted about 2 versions. Photoshop 7 is a nice improvement, and 8 will be as well. The GIMP really can't compare, especially in things like color management, although it also remains a useful tool. (Honda: look at www.gimp.org...)

So dude I'm going to have to correct you. :)

Seat (Pronounce Cee at) was originally owned by Fiat and the Spanish Goverment (in 1950). It latter went on to be sold to VW in the early 80's. All SEAT's are based on the VW platforms (engines etc). As are most Audi's and Skodas.

I've owned (and run in the ground) serveral SEAT's and they served me well! 8O I did a total of 500,000 miles in my last one before it caught fire. 8O

BTW If you like photochopping you should check out http://www.fark.com they some classic ones.

Anyone use Fireworks? I've used all the versions of PS hoping that it'll get better, but it's always seemed too bloated/inefficient, etc. Plus, I find it extremely annoying that I can't edit graphics in Acrobat without Photoshop.

JustinGTP
10-29-2003, 02:31 AM
Yeah, because Acrobat is a free reader, they want you to buy the Photoshop program. Thanks for the link Janak, ill check out that GIMP program. Also, carphead, how did you correct me in that sentence? You just seemed to go into more detail, I wasnt wrong or anything.

I have never played around with Fireworks, but it is supposed to be like photoshop, but on a lower level.

And on the Pocket PC Side of things, guess what program was modeled after the Desktop version of Photoshop? Pocket Artist by Conduits Technologies is almost the same, it can even save in PSD... :D

Yeah, because Acrobat is a free reader, they want you to buy the Photoshop program.
Acrobat Reader is free. To actually make PDF files, you need Acrobat Standard (http://www.adobe.com/store/products/master.jhtml?id=catAcrobatStnd) ($299) or Acrobat Professional (http://www.adobe.com/store/products/master.jhtml?id=catAcrobatPro)($450).

I have never played around with Fireworks, but it is supposed to be like photoshop, but on a lower level.
Incorrect assumption. From the beginning, Fireworks was geared toward the production of web graphics, whereas Photoshop began as (surprise!) a photo manipulation tool. It also interacts nicely with Dreamweaver MX, and can even create simplistic Flash movies and output HTML.

And on the Pocket PC Side of things, guess what program was modeled after the Desktop version of Photoshop? Pocket Artist by Conduits Technologies is almost the same, it can even save in PSD... :D
Personally, I prefer Photogenics (http://www.idruna.com/products_pocketpc.html).

Ahhhhh!!!

I am going to have to correct you back here - Acrobat - I said (acrobat is a free reader) you must have known what I meant.

Also, I dont like photogenics, I like Conduits Pocket Artist, it seems to have more features and I know the layout.

And regarding the Fireworks, I said "supposed to" and "I have never", explaining to you all of my lack of knowledge regarding this program. I know that it works nicely with Flash MX, which I have yet to play around with also.

Sorry to be a little off-topic, but you can also make PDF files for FREE with OpenOffice. (http://www.openoffice.org) Oh, it also includes a full-featured office suite as well

Encouraging you to try an incredibly powerful, incredibly useful piece of software is 'attacking' you? Pointing out a mistake is 'attacking' you? I assure you that I'm not attacking you in any way.. why do you think that? :\
