View Full Version : What is it with Ebay lately?

I have been bidding on Ipaqs lately and every so often I get emails from people trying to sell me Ipaq 5555 for rock bottom prices. The latest offer is $230. Definately a fraud concern since the user claims it is new in box!

the same thing happened to me, too. the seller said he'd ship the 5555 to me, and then i would pay. it never went through, but now it's kind-of weird to see it's a regular occurance. what kind of scam could they be after?

An old wise man once said, "If it's too good to be true, it probably isn't".

Funny, that comes to mind when hearing of a $230 Ipaq 5555 that only has to be paid for after it has shipped.

I couldn't help noticing that the H3835 I paid about $600 for is on ultra clearance at WALMART. It seems that there are a fe here and there. The asking price ranges between $199 and $150.

I told some friends and one of them asked for a price break and walked out with a $100 iPAQ WOW!

I've been selling on ebay for a few yaers now. What I've observed is that many of the 5500s are "factory sealed" refurbished units. 8O

Perk: Please edit your sig! If you absolutely must have all that in there, please put it on single lines separated by commas or something. A seventeen line (including spaces) sig is beyond absurd.

Back to the Subject at Hand....

Also, these units may be stolen and they dont want payment for them, they need to get rid of them because of a Police Bust soon to occur. Maybe thats a little to absurb, but you never do know. I often would wonder why someone would buy a 1000 ipaq and then sell it on ebay, makes you wonder cause the sellers must know that the ipaq will sell for less, its a guarantee, this is ebay, not the bay.

I ended up buying a refurb 5455 from HP for $359+$10 shipping. I upgraded it to WM2003 yesterday. Not very found of the new wireless LAN settings. :<

Do you really want to go there (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=178630&highlight=#178630)? I disagree... I think the PPCT community needs to realize that long sigs are annoying, especially when they are six or seven times longer than the user's average post. However, since off-topic posts are also annoying, this will be my last one on this subject.

Yes, but now we even have a thread for that. :) So put all .sig discussions here:

jbachandouris,
Have you tried PocketWinc? I find it simpler to connect then wm2003.

No, not yet. BTW whats the name of the free program that closes programs instead of minimizing them?
