Within the past 2 months I bought an IPAQ 1940 and love it. I invested in a few accessories for it ... cradle, auto power adapter, .... and I am wondering now if I return the 1940 and get a 4150 will it work in the 1900 series cradle??

My guess is, no; at least not the cradle...

The 1900 series didn't have serial capability. The current thought is that the 4000 series does. The connector was reversed in the 1900 series, and has been turned back around in the 4000 series. The auto adapter **SHOULD** work, provided you connect it to the device upside down.

The cradle won't work because the device would have to face backwards in order to connect. Not good.

If I am wrong, would someone kindly correct me?

Thanks!

You're right. Everything that I have seen so far has said that the 4000 series devices have the 2200 and 3800-5000 series connector. The 1900 has it upside down.

I will physically confirm this later today.
