Hi everyone,

Has anyone had any experience using a Bluetooth 56k Modem (such as this one: http://www.billionton.com.tw/website/product/doc/BT56R.htm) with their PDA? Can I link it to my iPAQ and browse the net directly, without having to connect it to a desktop/laptop? Are there any security implications of doing things this way? I don't recall ever seeing a firewall for PPC although maybe I'm just paranoid.

Thanks everyone for your help.

Dylan

While there are no firewalls for the PPC there are also no trojans etc (AFAWK).

Why not? If your mobile phone has neither BT or a data plan, the possibility of using a wireless modem is cool. I could use it while in my hotel room when travelling to get into the corporate network. I could also access BBS style systems without having to go onto the internet (security).
