In my Pocket_PC My Documents folder (the 'syncing' folder), I have lots of files with names like Words Plus Connectivity.rgb, Thumbs Up! ZipHelp.rgb, etc. Thet seem to be remnants from previous installations.

What are they, why are they in this folder, and can I safely delete them please?

Did a quick google search on '.rgb files' and they seem to be image files.

Do you perhaps use Remover?

Yes, I do use Remover. Do you think that's relevant? How?

BTW, they're not image files.

I believe they are remover backup files. Check your options in remover. I have a bunch of those files and the names correspond to registry entries I had deleted using Remover.

I backed up the files to my PC and just deleted them off my iPAQ. I haven't encountered any problems.

UPDATE:

Hey, help CAN help. Just to be sure I went into Remover and actully read the Help. Click on the question mark button then click the link to "Invalid Registy Entry". Reading down a ways it says "If 'File->Options->Registry->Backup registry' checkbox is checked, the backup file for every deleted key will be saved in the file, named "\My Documents\[key name].rgb".

So there you have it. I hope that helps.

Sure does, many thanks. Guess I'd better read the rest of Remover's Help - never know what else I'll find!

Sorry about that, wasn't trying to point you in the wrong direction.

Actually, RGB is a standard for color image files. If you'd like to know more about RGB files as they relate to imaging you can go HERE (http://www.math.iastate.edu/burkardt/data/rgb/rgb.html).

I believe the developers of Remover used the "rgb" extension for their own reasons and didn't mean for anyone to confuse them with images.

RGB stands for red, green, blue right?

It does, but I believe the Remover guy is in Romania (or that part of the World) so the letters might mean something else for him.

Then again, I get everything wrong of late, he maybe lives in Indiana. :D

Maybe they meant (R)e(G)istry (B)ackup file?
