My writstwatch died this weekend. Before I spend too much money buying a new one, I wonder how long until the new watches from Microsoft will be available. Has anyone heard anything about these new toys?

[edit: fixed SPOT anagram]

Close but no cigar...

It's actually called SPOT (http://www.microsoft.com/resources/spot/default2.mspx)...

I learned about the new SPOT watches at Mobius - I'll write something about that this week...

Wow, those are neat. Makes you wonder when watches will too have colour screens!

The Microsoft site, along with their SPOT partners indicate a Fall 2003 release. I also remember in another thread about Timex's, someone posted that their son/daughter works at a watch retailer, and has been told they are on the way. (Found the thread (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=18448&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=70) )

They aren't going to be cheap. You have to 'subscribe' to the service. I think it's $10 a month, or $100 a year.

The final pricing is $9.95 per month or $59.95/year. Not too bad.

I remembered that it was cheaper to buy the year, just had the wrong amount.

The prices aren't too bad. As long as you remember that $60 a year is like buying a pretty decent new watch every year.

They look really cool, but I haven't decided if I am going to get one yet. With all my other connected technology that I always seem to carry around; I'm not sure I need another connected device.

I look forward to your comments on these Jason.
