As we know there have been numerous instances of the rubber grips coming off the new HP h2210/2215 iPAQs.

We've heard that HP is willing to replace these units completely, but not necessarily solve the problem. As we know, the rubber grips will only last a month on an average.

What do you think should HP or some enterprising plastics manufacturer do?

We all want a real solution, but somehow i doubt that any company would spend the money to develop replacments to what they see as a "cosmetic" issue, then give it away for free to customers. :?

In another thread, Xanadu mentioned a "plastics kit" he got from HP for the 2210/2215. The rep "was aware of the grip issue" and sent him part #349036-001

I called HP last night and got the kit. It isn't just a replacement but a "new" set of grips that won't separate!

I'll tell you tomorrow as they overnighted them to me. I should get them then. I think they might be one piece. The tech. did tell me that the part number had changed. In fact, he had to put me on hold to research the part nymber I gave him. He hadn't heard about it!
