and one additional item worth a mention. Within the WM2003 Development forum a team of programmers and users from across the globe are working actively to a solution to the WM2003 failing alarm problem..... it looks like a solution may be near:

So I recently decided to experiment with a theory regarding the WM2003 alarm problems.

We all know that there is a definate problem with units turning on the display when scheduled applications run (e.g. scheduled backups from Pocket Backup, my own pTravelAlarm, etc). Most of us (developers) have worked around this by powering on the display when we're invoked.

There are still intermittent, non-deterministic failures though, where the unit doesn't wake up when intended (either with the built in alarms or with 3rd party apps) but the alarms sound when the unit is manually powered up.

I decided I'd have a look at the public WinCE .NET source code and see if there was anything else going on there. This basically involves downloading a copy of the MS Platform Builder product and getting an eval key. Anyone can do this.

Low and behold, one of the source files (platform.cpp) basically manages all of the power state transitions. After spending some time reading through this, here's what I've found.........

I am having a hard time with this site on a PocketPC in the following sense - if I go to www.tekguru.co.uk, it automatically forwards me to http://www.tekguru.co.uk/phpBB2/Tekguru_Front.htm. And from this point onwards, I cannot "Back" to my previous page (i.e. to the site I was surfing before going to Tekguru) from IE or IE w/PocketPlus. On my desktop, I can hit back fast enough and the browser is able to understand, however the PocketPC is clearly not fast enough to handle this. Is anyone else having this problem?

This will be because of the redirection code used to forward you to the main page(s). Not a lot I can do without it at the moment, there are reasons which I can't change for the moment whey I can't go directly into the main page - these should change over the next wek or so though.
