I spoke with a Product Manager at HP today and asked when/if the h2215 was going to be discontinued. She looked at her roadmap and told me not until May/June of 2004. Also during this same time frame the h5555 will be discontinued. Looks like I will be getting the h2215 after all. I really want that CF slot and my wifi useage is such that it doesn't warrant having it built in.

Cheers

Thats not too far away. This pocket pc thing is ever growing fast with the new abundance of technology. Things just dont last like they used too.

Well if you can avoid getting into upgraditis, then a PocketPC can last quite a while. I mean, the 2215 has the CF Slot, SD Slot, decent amount of memory, Bluetooth. But I assume folks want more.

I have been an avid PPC user and for me the 2210 has just hit the spot. It is fast enough, the slots are just on target, the screen is pretty damn good and I haven't hit any battery limitations. I segregate my installations between main memory and the SD card based on performance, and things are just working real well for me. I think I'm prettty happy here until I can get an IPAQ with higher res screens - and outside of Palm-stuff, Compaq/HP really do seem to have been the most serious with screen innovations.

(My Caveat: don't wait too long for those screen improvements, PPC OEMs - my pixel-envy might just drive me elsewhere!)

I figure I will be ready for my second PPC (yes the 2215 is my first PPC) by the time the iPaq 6000 series comes out. I will not sell my 2215 because I want a PPC with CF capability which is why I chose the 2215 instead of the 4150 or 4350.
