I have a iPAQ 2215 and would love a BlueTooth audio headset to listen to music without a cord. The only BT headset's I've seen are phone related with single earphone and integrated microphone. Are there stereo, audio-only BT headsets?

I'm not 100%, but I don't think this would work because it doesn't look like the 2215 supports the audio headset profile - but I'm still new at Bluetooth. :-)

Search around Jason. Both here and at passion, the reg hack to expose the Headset profile has been posted. It was a simple 0 to 1 change and headset now shows up in the BT wizard on my 2215. I don't know if it works, not having a BT headset, but the option is there.

Ah, very interesting. So the software is there, it's just turned off? That sneaky HP. ;-)

Hmm, I would very much love to have stereo BT speakers.

That would be SOO nice.

Any reason why two headsets wouldn't work? (Expensive I grant you, and you would look like a member of the Borg....)

I love getting NavMan directions through the BT earpiece - but it's a pain that I can't have it connected to the phone at the same time as well... *sigh* :D Having said that, I'm not sure I couldn't have tunes on there as well - suppose it depends on the pc output being automatically allocated as necessary...hmm.... off to try that!

I did the hack mentioned here and was able to get the profile to show up on my 5455 as well...

Wish I had a headset to test it with.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
Have you seen this!!!!! :onfire:

http://www.openbrain.co.kr/e_site/e_products/e_products03.htm

You can even order a "sample" for $215 + $25 shipping + $8 for the obligatory extra battery!

Who will be the first gearhead/gadgetmonger to pick up the gauntlet, use the registry hack and test this puppy with a bluetooth enabled PPC? Or better yet, a bluetooth enabled PPCPhone? Imagine listening to music or watching a movie in stereo wirelessly then answering a call without skipping a beat!

I have been happy with my BT Jabra headset paired with my SonyEricsson t610 and my trusty 3850/expansion pack/ambicom BT CF but I'm itching for an XDA II or an ipaq 6000!!! With one of the openbrain headsets with attached HUD like these:
http://www.microoptical.net/Products/HomePage.html#
and a bluetooth pen/mouse such as:
http://www.expansys.us/product.asp?code=VPEN&asource=
of course all with a little technology maturation, you'd really be assimilated! 0X

When you say assimilated, I think you mean this smiley: :robot:

Ask goldkey all about it :D

Hmm, the link is taking forever to open and we have broadband. :(

Good point, my future alien bretheren appreciate specificity 0X :robot: :alfdance:

However, so I don't get a :nonono: , it's exciting that the :robot: wireless/highspeed/audiovisual/personal computer is at hand! We just need gearhead with the sufficient funds to put it all together!

I have both a H2210 and a bluetooth headset (Ericsson HBH-10). I've tried the hack but I don't use it anymore. The H2210 would lock up sporadically even when I don't have anything paired. I would turn off my H2210 and then it wouldn't turn on again afterwards until I did a soft-reset. Sometimes it would happen everytime I turn it off and somtimes I could turn it on and off several times before wouldn't turn on again. One time I found that my batteries were completely drained after doing a soft reset. That was the last straw. At least I realised that the problem was the screen was turned off but the device apparently wasn't. It's as if the H2210 doesn't realise that it was turned off! I have no idea how to fix this problem but now I just apply the hack when I want to use my headset and unapply it when I'm finished.

Has anyone tried the hack on the 1945? I have a 1910 and don't want the extra bulk of the 2210?!!

Isb't wireless stuff battery hungry? I'm not sure how often youd want to use a wireless headset.

Im sure thats why they make these things rechargable 8O
Lets face it I'd rather have a couple of hours wireless that a whole day wired up like a borg..how long does it take to untangle mobile handsfree earphones!!

Only problem I find is that the actual headset battery doesn't last a wealth of time...

That's a great link yorkslad - not sure about how accurate it is though - I don't think mine lasts that long - nowhere near it actually... Will have to test it properly; maybe it's too subjective...
