I really need to find a way to convert .wps (MS Works 97, I think) files to Word (.doc) files.

I uninstalled Works and don't have a disk.

PLEASE REPLY WITH ANY IDEAS! THANKS!

Have you tried to open them directly with WORD???

If you have your Word/Office install disc, run setup and install all the import/export filters. I'm sure you'll see various versions of Works listed there....

I'm not sure if this is the right version, but here is a download for a Works 2000 Converter for Word 2000.

Here's the link for Works 6.0 files (not sure what Works 97 equates to).

Thanks a ton, JR! It looks like the file link you gave me is what I'll need. I'll give it a go tonight and see what happens.

One of the things I HATE about MS products is that you always need the CD to change anything.

Renaming a PC in win98.

Inserting Clipart that shows up in the clipart manager.

Installing a file converter...

I don't have a CD with me. So I can't get anything done. Why didn't Office just copy every thing when it INSTALLED?!?!?!

This would be an option that you had when you installed Office. Several areas include some "install on first use" items.

The easiest thing to do, if you have plenty of HD space, is simply set everything including the kitchen sink to "run from hard disk." Granted, I've learned this from installing Office several times,....
