<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/discounts.php' target='_blank'>http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/discounts.php</a><br /><br /></div>Seeing the immense enthusiasm for our newly-created eBook forums, I thought Pocket PC Thoughts readers might appreciate saving some money on books purchased through <a href="http://www.palmdigitalmedia.com">Palm Digital Media</a> (which seems to be the only format that doesn't frustrate buyers with painful DRM restrictions).<br /><br />So how does it work? Simple: use the coupon code THOTS to receive 10% off when checking out of the Palm Digital Media store. This coupon doesn't apply to books already on special, but should be good for pretty much everything else. The coupon will expire on the 13th of October, so you have about two weeks to use it.<br /><br />And if you're a <a href="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/subscribe.php">subscriber</a>, I've negotiated an extra 5% discount for you, making the total discount 15% - but you'll have to <a href="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/discounts.php">check the discounts page</a> to get the code. Happy reading everyone!

SWEEEEEEEEET !!!!

Thanks Jason !!! The recent B&N anouncement :twak: made me start to look at formats other than Reader format. I just finished my first PDM book and I have to say that I like the reader better than MS Reader.

Yet another wonderful reason to be a PPCT patron and supporter. Thanks again for working so hard for us ! :way to go:

Hrm...Molly Ivans has an ebook, she's made comments that expressed doubt about ebooks.

Nevertheless, I should try Palm Reader, I just wish I could uninstall Microsoft Reader and install Palm Reader instead to save RAM.

Don't worry about that part - Reader is in ROM, not RAM (unless you installed some of those patches of course), so it's not taking up space that you could otherwise use (until we get complete control over the Flash ROM on our device to the point of uninstalling parts of the OS).

Oh, I know it's in ROM, I'm kinda referring to past comments about wanting to be able to install and deinstall ROM components so I could uninstall Microsoft Reader or Media Player and replace it with Palm Reader or Conduits Media Player. To me, I like having some applications to be in the ROM and have the files (such as wma's or .doc files); and I especially don't like doubling up applications.

thanks! :D

I just finished reading The Da Vinci Code (http://www.palmdigitalmedia.com/book.cgi/0385504217), and after that I feel I should read The Jesus Mysteries (http://www.palmdigitalmedia.com/book.cgi/0676806570)... so this promo code is really welcome! ;)

Does the Subscriber Code expire on Octber 13 also? I finished reading The Da Vinci Code on the weekend and just downloaded Digital Fortress, also by Dan Brown.

I only read e-Books at the Gym and in spare moments as I prefer the paper versions at home, so it is unlikely I will be finished another before October 13.

Awesome. This was a very unexpected surprise (in a good way). I just bought Perdido Street Station, which I've put off buying for a while. Now I have no excuse.

Subscribing has so many perks it's not even funny. :D

If you have just finished The Da Vinci Code, and you are starting Digital Fortress you might as well go get Angels and Demons now, because you are going to anyway. :)

Jason, can this discount be used on top of the 15% discount one gets as a Palm Digital subscriber?

Yes. You'll find the coupon code expiration date in the subject line of the coupon announcement on the discounts page. :-)

Unknown - I'll see if I can find out, but I don't think the coupon codes are "stackable" (most aren't it seems).

Nope. When I bought my book I tried that. Only one will be accepted. The subscriber coupon is better than the default one anyway, so use it!

We used to offer 15%, but dropped it to 10% a couple years ago. Most of our sales use the weekly subscription, so our margins dropped too low.

Use the 15% from the PPT newsletter (if you're a subscriber) until it runs out.

Hey, Peter. It's good of you guys to offer this!

If you hadn't mentioned the change in your discount I would have gone on believing I was still getting 15%. :)

Thanks. This is really good timing. There were three new mysteries I wanted to buy today, and either I didn't get my weekly email from PeanutPress this week or I accidentally deleted it.
