Hi,

I'm wondering what kind of map software is available for PPC2003. I don't need a GPS navigation, just basic map application - where I can track streets with their names.

Moreover, I'd like to create own map using .bmp file.

Does anybody knows the answer?

Hmm, I would say take a look at Microsoft Street and Trips 2004. This is your basic map software and includes all of the USA and most of Canada. It does NOT support your maps, to import your own maps you'll need you'll need to spend about 4 times as much as this program.

I use MapPoint, it's not cheap though.

Try mapopolis... the program is free and they do have a few free maps to boot. You may just luck out, and I love the program... I used to use Pocket Streets but this is much faster and more versitile. But I am sure the new version must be better, but in saying all that Mapoplis is a nice program.

I have not tried them all to compare, but Mapopolis is a good choice, and I have used it a lot. You can buy individual maps from their site, and you can try them out as well if you want to give it a go.

I have been very happy with it.
