My offtopic question of the day is, is there any Windows screensaver/slideshow software that is like the Macintosh screensaver? The one that can fade and zoom in and out? No smarta** answers like just get a mac. :D This is a serious question... :jester:

Hello,

you should give PocketCandy a try. It is a set of several screen savers for the pocket pc and can be found at: http://motbe.coolcomputing.net/

Scott Seligman has a screensaver plugin for pocketcandy that can show pictures in order like a slide show. It is called "ShowPictures" and can be found at: http://www.scottandmichelle.net/scott/cestuff.html

I assume you mean for a desk top/lap top PC.

This is a really good one, it has a lot of transitions, is free, and rotates your wallpaper, you can add a calandar to the screensaver, big little or small, in the corner and on the background. It also has other features!

I know webshots but it's mostly canned images and loads of spyware. Is there no company on the PC side who can duplicate the cool screensaver on a Mac? I only really need it to do one thing and that's to do a slow fade transition in and out with slight random panning/zooming from one picture to another. If you haven't seen it on a Mac, it's the simplest and nicest looking screensaver I've seen. The best part is that you don't have to do any specific programing. It just works with your existing pictures.

Thanks for all your suggestions. This is a tough one to find.

It works beautifully!!! It's simple and does exactly what I want it to do. Give it a try.
