Who (or what) decides what you are in this forum? I've seen Pupils, Neophytes, Sages, Theorists, Intellectuals, Thinkers and much more writing posts, but how can I say I don't want to be a "Pocket PC pupil" anymore  ?

:?: :?: :?:

It is based on the total number of forum posts and states nothing negative or positive about anyone. For a while (before the new site went up in Feb 02) I mainly just read the forums and was not an active participant in this community. I then became a more active paricipant with the new webiste - offering help and feedback at times I could. Over time, your 'involvement' in the Thoughts community will change your status.

I think it goes in increments of 25 posts, for example:

1-25 total posts = Pocket PC Neophyte
25 - 50 Posts = Pocket PC Pupil,

and so forth

Nope, it's actually quite nonuniform. I can say that when you hit 50 posts, you do "graduate" from Pupil. So keep on contributing to the community. ;)

If you want to cheat and find the naming system, manipulate the member list so it lists by number of posts.

Well, you won't get the exact boundaries... so I hardly call that "cheating". ;)

Jason doesn't really tell people what the higher "ranks" are... I guess it's just more incentive to make a lotta posts.

That's precisely why Jason made the ranks unpredictable -- so people don't pad their posts just to jump to the next rank. He's a pretty smart guy, you know. ;)

I did not use that word, it was covered up with um, err, astericks. This is a PG site remember that!

Some little kiddies might have their daddy's or mommy's PDA and they dont want any bad language
