Which do you use with your 2003 device? I'm looking for opinions (skins, update frequency, icons (including "connection" icons), etc) as well as how many use each...

Been a while since I used this app (before it went "open source"). Just curious...

Steve

I know about Icbar as well, but it doesn't appear to have a 2003 version (if I'm incorrect about this, let me know)...

I will use Wisbar Advance when I finally get my WM 2003 upgrade...

It is graphically nicer than the straight Wisbar (referring obviously to the Pelmar version) - you will notice that the bubbles fit with the OS bubbles...a small thing but important to me. There are also some great skins coming for WA from the likes of Lightman...check out his site (http://www.lightman.pdahit.com/). He actually released a new one just today.

It should be noted for those who like notifications or have PPC Phone Edition that none of these *bar programs really support notifications AND skins at the same time...although you can turn the skins off and just use the task switcher functions of all of them of course. Apparently it's a real bitch to program, with various adhoc methods having been tried with limited success. Basically the skin covers up the normal bar, and there is no way to tell where the normal icon is underneath it, and thus no way to pass taps "through" the skin with any great reliability...

I use Wisbar Advance and find it indispensible.

WA supports the connection icon properly which was a decider for me; ICBar as you mentionned doesn't.

The developer seems very responsive.

There are many skins available:

Lightman's skins http://www.lightman.pdahit.com/

My skins http://www.zensbikeshop.com/waskins.htm

Best of all it's FREE! Although I would happily pay for it.

Hope this helps...

You're right I should have said that WA does support some notifications such as connection but not in an interactive way - ie it will report that you are connected but there is no way to tap on it to bring up extra info or interact with it...

You are right - the developer is very responsive which is a great plus.

I hadn't seen your skins before - I like Dark Bliss particularly - very clean.

I am waiting for Lightman to update his eXperience skins for WA - I can't help being a sucker for XP-like skins.

Here's another vote for Wisbar Advance, although I don't really know what's the difference between the Advance and the normal version since I just recently got Wisbar. Anyone care to enlighen me?

Thanks in advance

I like your "Dark Bliss" skin. I have a request though - if at all possible, could you post the original picture you used for the background, or at least provide a link for it? Pretty please?

BTW, another vote for WA from me.

Cheers,
Rok

I also get most of my skins at www.wincustomize.com

Another vote for Wisbar Advance!! The Attraction theme (skin) by Lightman is excellent! :D

WisBar Advanced here too! And I am also usign the Attraction theme.

There needs to be a site that is dedicated to the themes / skins designed to work together, I know lightman has his site, and WOW are his themes awesome, but I wish someone would do for the theme skin combo what Pocketthemes.com did for themes.

Most of the Dashboard themes at www.wincustomize.com have Wisbar themes with them. The newer ones are starting to include Wisbar Advance themes :D

While I must admit that Lightman has some impressive work... I prefer Juni's (http://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?authorid=229) work myself. :rock on dude!:

I just wish he had the Wisbar Advanced themes as a separate download...

is there a program like wisbar out there that will let you use the colors that should be showing from the today screen image you have chosen?

WisBar will let you do that... just tell it to use the theme colors and the 2002 gradient background rather than the image background, take a look:

That's nice, but I don't use dashboard, and I was referring to a site that does Wisbar / Themes together, much like the combinations on Lightman's (http://www.lightman.pdahit.com/) site but open to any other artists.

Likewise. I like Clarity but there is no matching Today theme...

This isn't as bad as it seems. If you download a Dashboard skin and unzip it you will find a folder in it called "wisbar" or "wisbar advance". Pull out that folder and junk the rest. Even with the Dashboard theme, files are usually less than a half a Megabyte! :way to go:

I see your point, however you might try http://www.pocketthemes.com/. This site is huge!!! You should be able to find something that would look great with any Wisbar Advance skin. 8)
