Hi all,

I am thinking about getting a PPC. I frequently check messageboards (EZBoards and Star Wars Galaxies Forum) and would like to know how Pocket IE displays them. I plan on using the PPC also for eBooks, Pocket Quicken, and also to hold recipes/shopping lists.

If I get one, I am definitely going with a Dell, since my wife works for them. (dont want to bite the hand that is feeding us) Not decided on which Axim to get, tho.

Thanks for any replies!

I'm viewing and using this forum on my Ipaq2210 without any problems. Also I have used my pay with boards based on asp. net without issues.

Landscape? Do you need specific software to do that?

Thanks for your replies. Here is one of the forums I am reading:

just click on any of them.

Also this is an ezboard forum:

Thanks for checking these for me! I am currently selling my gameboy advance SP and old iMac to finance the PPC purchase. :)

I am very interested in LandScape too.

Is there an app that can put your PIE into landscape without having a keyboard connected AND that works with WM2003?

Nyditot Virtual Display (http://www.nyditot.com/home.htm) will give you landscape mode - found this on their webpage:
"Nyditot Virtual Display, Version 3.2 is now compatible with several Pocket PC 2003 devices including the HP iPAQ h5500 and h2200 series devices and the Toshiba E755."

Anyway, to stay on the topic; some web-pages are customized for the Pocket Internet Explorer. That is why the PocketPCThoughts forum looks so good on your device :D .
For web-pages that aren't customized, using a service like Skweezer (http://www.greenlightwireless.net/) ($10 a year) will make your surfing more enjoyable. There are also some free services like MobileLeap (http://www.mobileleap.net/translation/), but they don't offer all the functionality that skweezer does.

If you want the best surfing experience on your ppc, you could use bitstreams ThunderHawk (http://www.bitstream.com/). It costs $50 a year, but you'll be able to surf at a 800x600 resolution in landscape mode.

Good luck!
