It's well worth a read.

Tempting as it is, though, I've promised not to make fun of the cracked XDA screen shown in several of the photos, especially knowing what my family's puppy did to my beautiful hp 2215 a couple of weeks ago!

That was a surprise. It looks like Hitachi is providing software on a 3.5" floppy. I thought those dissappeared years ago. ;)

perhaps the fresh new screen of the Hitachi biased him to make the switch given the "screen resolution" of his XDA

(i couldn't resist 8O )

WOW.... 8O

That is one COMPLETE review.....I very much agree with the comment about the XDA being a bit slippery. I have dropped mine while out of the case once or twice. Luckily, no damage like Mike suffered....just a small dent in the lower corner.
I shipped my original one back due to extreme paint issues - and this one has done much better - until lately....it is slowly starting to fade in a couple of small spots. No where near as severe or quickly as before.

That Hitachi still looks a little too boxey/bulky. I know its dimensions don't go too much beyond the XDA, but still looks a little "brick-like".

Very nice review.

That dog must have a BIG mouth. Unless it disassembled it first ;)

Or it could be a big dog to begin with ;) I'm used to Sheltie- and Border Collie-size dogs.

That's no floppy disk. It's the plastic case for the Li-ion battery. It's kinda shaped like a floppy, though. :)
