It's below average. Almost like it was thrown together as an after thought.

I think Passive Sync would be a more appropriate title. It seems to have a mind of its own. If it doesn't want to sync, it won't, and even when my PPC is connected, and AS shows it's connected, the button to sync will be greyed out, and it won't update any changes.....

When it works, it works fine, but it could be a little more stable.

It's "funny", if you would have asked me a few days ago, I would have said AS 3.7 is great. Used to have problems w/ older versions, haven't had any w/ this one. That is, until the other day. It's like it flipped a coin to decide whether or not work at all. If it connected, should I stay connected, should I sync anything, etc.

I hadn't installed anything new, made any changes, nothing. The really weird thing is that there's been new software, new versions of old that I've installed since and things are fine w/ AS again.

When it works, it's great...

When it breaks itself, it is the most frustrating piece of...software I have ever worked with...

Is it really "hopless" folks?

Me and my dictionary think not!

Unfortunately, modifying polls tends to delete them. I saw the misspelling, but can't do anything about it.

Once you get it working over TCP/IP its not half as bad. Well, since half of the bad part is the sloooow transfer speeds over USB/IR/serial.

Any time you hard reset your PDA, set the date/time before you do any kind of restore.

I've had very few problems with ActiveSync. The most profound one I had was two unsyncable files when I changed the device name and synced without deleting the partnership first. I fixed it by deleting/recreating it.

Since moving to AS 3.7 and Windows Mobile 2003, I haven't had a single issue and the speed increase is very welcome. Not wanting to jinx it but I'm happy with it. The options are not perfect but overall reliability is great for me now.

i think it sucks for the plain and simple reason that you cant have 2 inboxes on 2 pc's synced... thats all...

Well, I don't have troubles at all with AS, I know a lot of people do, maybe I'm a sort of freak or just lucky.

Regards.

No problems with WM 2003 and 3.7. It's been working great and it's fast. My last setup (AS 3.6 and EM500) was fine although when I would first install it on a new machine it sometimes was finicky - and THAT was the biggest PITA I've had to troubleshoot.

In all honesty (at least my experience)...I've had more difficulties with Palm HotSync than ActiveSync.

I just wish it would recognize more than one PDA connected to a single computer. Even if it only let me sync to one at a time, even if it made me choose which, at least recognize my two PDAs instead of making me unplug one to plug in the other.

I have ZERO problem with activesync, since I stop using it.

Personally, I've never had a lick of trouble with AS 3.5, 3.6, or 3.7.
