I finally received my PPC2003 CD from HP for my iPAQ 3970...

Nice BT manager (Finally!) and some of the programs are nicer.

BUT!!

What the heck did they do to WiFi?

I finally found a socket driver that works (well kinda) with 2003, but I can't see my IP address, WINS server or DNS server IPs.

It almost enough to drive me back to PPC2002!

Just get VxUtil. It will give you all that info and a lot more.

Yea, I upgraded and now my Linksys PC Card don't work, oh well, I'm waiting for the SD WiFi from Sandisk anyway.

The CF from linksys works. look at this...

If you want a Linksys it can work with 2003, here is some info from usenet

I just found the message from Jim and got it working!! (THANKS, JIM!!!!) Use
his instructions, but Senao now has drivers posted for WinCE400 which give
you ALL the functionality, including WEP!...

Heres' a paste from his message, but my recommendation is instead of using
the WLAN_ForWinCE300.exe driver, grab the WLan_ForWinCE400 driver and use it
to get WEP, etc.

-------------------------------------------------
I've been able to have some luck with getting the WCF12 card working on the
ipaq 2200 series running Pocket PC 2003. The necessary driver is named
wlannds.dll which can be downloaded from the Senao Intl's website
(apparently their wlan card uses a prims chipset as well). Download
WLAN_ForWinCE300.exe (this is attached to this post also) from the following
url:

http://www.senao.com/service%20&%20...%20download.htm

Run the installer and then do a soft reset. Then power back up and insert
your Linksys card. The OS should gove you and "Unrecognized card" pop-up.
Enter 'wlannds.dll' (without quotes) into the input box and click 'Ok'.

Your link light should now be flashing green and you will be notified of the
existing 802.11b networks within range (if any).

Going to 'Start->Settings->Connections->Connections' will also let you see
networks w/in range.

The WLAN Staus Icon Util that's installed with WLAN_ForWinCE300.exe seems to
work fairly well although I haven't messed around with it much yet.
Heres' a paste from his message, but my recommendation is instead of using
the WLAN_ForWinCE300.exe driver, grab the WLan_ForWinCE400 driver and use
it
to get WEP, etc.
There's
is a small bug where it takes over the task bar on the botton of the Today
screen though.

Hope this helps.

You might also want to take a look at www.hudsonmobile.com IP Dashboard. This is a great today screen plug-in that gives you all you want.
