What Is The Difference Between Pocket PC 2002, 2003 and Windows CE 4.2?

My device\Windows\www\wwwpub (not hidden and a "default" folder in fresh/hard resetted Windows Mobile 2003 )?

Do they say the OS has a build in webserver?

I don't know about the Pocket PC OS 2002, but I know there's a beta webserver for Windows Mobile 2003 - pulled out last week from the beta site because of a security flaw. Or something like this...

Do they say the OS has a build in webserver?I honestly don't know but it seems the bits may be there but the UI isn't. That web server download that has been pulled seemed pretty small. It may just be a UI on top of built in APIs, APIs that a developer could use directly. Perhaps someone with the SDK would know.

I tried the following experiment:
-Created a simple "hello world" index.htm file
-and placed it in the [My device/Windows/www/wwwpub] folder,
-tried to access it in Pocket internet explorer using http://127.0.0.1/index.htm and http://localhost/index.htm
-crossed my fingers
-got rewarded with a "The page you are looking for cannot be found" message box

since the folder is there (take a look on your WM2003 device) its got to have a purpose.

I guess the server isnt running. :idontthinkso: The questions are, is the server component installed/integraded into another service or aplication already there? And if so, what is the magic command
(1. Press and hold the rocker button (IE the large round 5 directional button on the center of your ie iPAQ.)
(2. Tap and hold on the clock in the titlebar)
(3. Release the rocker button)
(4. Select run from the menu)
(5. Write the magic command + parameters)

Or can it be started by simply modifying a value in the registry and reset :?:

Hmm...I'm not seeing a Windows\www folder on my Pocket PC. I have an iPAQ 2200 and I'm using Resco File Explorer showing all files and folders. Any clue why it's not there?

Strange. It is here on my 2215.

LOL...now I remember...I think that folder was in the root of my Pocket PC and it was empty so I moved it into a temp folder and eventually delete it.
