Arg! I am having a very tough time fully removing Avantgo from pocketpc 2003. It's still trying to sync. It's not listed in Add/remove on the device nor in the add/remove on my pc. Any toughts?

Thanks

I think the only way to fully remove AvantGo is to do a hard reset and not check the AvantGo box when syncing because AvantGo is installed the first time you check the AvantGo box. Also, AvantGo will not be listed in the Add/Remove Programs.

I THINK this is what you have to do. I've never done it before to make sure. Hopefully someother PPCT member will help out in solving this problem.

Deselect it from ActiveSuck options?

Delete the server properties in AvantGo, so there are no servers to sync?

That would disable the syncing, but would it fully remove AvantGo?

I did all that and went into expolorer and delted the avantgo Dir. But did this really get rid of it?

avantgo is a service, so just uncheck it in ActiveSync on the Desktop and it wont sync. If it annoys you that much delete the folders and it wont sync no more. No need to get drastic. all you gotta do is not open the avantgo page.

My problem with it is it seams to save alot of info in IE's cache taking up memory. That's my beef. :)

Well, then 1st download the Pocket IE Tool from Microsoft (PowerToys for PPC IIRC), there u can set the maximum size of the PocketIE cache, then delete the profiles as stated before here. Finally, delete the \Windows\AvantGo folder. That should at least have ur system as AG-free as possible. I think the avantgo.dll is in the ROM, so you won't be able to delete is most probably.
