So when he goes to Japan, he always has a lot of fun checking out what's new. Here's what he found (lowercase description all pt's):<br /><br />"japan in july...docomo just launched the 505 series of phones. the ones i was able to check out were the <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/IMG_3914_JPG.html">d505i</a> with <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/IMG_3915_JPG.html">fingerprint scanner</a> which is just used to protect the phone. the <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/IMG_3916_JPG.html">so505i</a> from sony ericsson with 180 flip around screen, <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/IMG_3917_JPG.html"> scroll bar </a>and 1.3 megapixel camera. i could talk about the japanese phone arena for days, but i'm not going to...just pictures. as usual i ate some cool stuff you can't get in the states. speaking of consumables, one thing that i really liked-- a new trend in japan, which was to use these new type of eye drops. these <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/IMG_3942_JPG.html">eye drops</a> are "minty" it's hard to explain, basically when you use these, it's as if you eyes have a tongue and you just used mouthwash, on your eyes, um - it's just amazing. i got a chance to see some of the early sony aibo robot pet <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/IMG_3954_JPG.html">prototypes</a>, <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/Img_3955_JPG.html">cool</a> <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/Img_3956_JPG.html">stuff.</a><br /><br />the new <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/IMG_3961_JPG.html">sony vaio</a> is nice, very <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/IMG_3962_JPG.html">ibook-ish</a> looking. visiting the sony store this trip was pretty exciting, <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/Img_3970_JPG.html">the new</a> <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/Img_3971_JPG.html">clie</a> was <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/Img_3973_JPG.html">there</a> and <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/Img_3974_JPG.html">gosh</a> <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/Img_3975_JPG.html">it looks</a> pretty <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/Img_3976_JPG.html">sweet</a>. the updated os is <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/Img_3978_JPG.html">very multi-media-ish</a>, <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/Img_3977_JPG.html"> very cool</a>. it's a bit larger than the pictures on the web let on, so it's not pocket-able, but then again, none of the <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/Img_3980_JPG.html">high end-clies are</a>, lots of people dig that, so it's all good. saw the <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/IMG_3991_JPG.html">qualia sony</a> digital cam, perhaps the smallest coolest digital camera on the planet, it's no bigger than a memory stick duo and has a touchscreen on top. let's see, what else? <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/Img_3998_JPG.html">fuzzy robot dogs</a>, <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/Img_4021_JPG.html">nail painting robot machines</a>...feel free to check out the <a href="http://www.insomedia.com/japan7/">rest of the pics</a>."
