Can anybody that has both make a recommendation? I want a strong opponent and be able to setup board positions and analyze them.

I tried the 15 minute trial of Chessmate and it looks good. I can't find a trial or electronic download of Pocket Fritz 2. The only option seems to be ordering it on CD from a poorly designed web store (the links to shipping, privacy notice, etc are 404s).

Thanks!

Try ChessGenius v1.4 (www.chessgenius.com).

Frit has no try option before buying. It will also not have an upgrade option and for this reason I cannot recommend it. I bought version 1 and was told to buy version 2 at full price though version 1 was clearly only so-so finished in terms of functionality - this may be why they don't want prospective customers to try it.

Pocket Grandmaster looks good - anyone tried it?
