Ipaq 1940 from Palm - Doubts

:) i've bought a IPA 1940 and i never had worked with a pocket pc until know.
I've the following doubts, could you please help me?
1) Some programs that I have installed are installed in programs and a shortcut is created in start/programs (This programs normally appear in the Remove Programs List)
Other it only copy a a exe file to my documents, how can i create a short cut?
2) How can I create a wallpaper to include in today's screen
3) I was trying to play a mpe file, i read some of your comments and I've downloaded the PocketMVP, but when I try to run that file, my ppc freezes.
4) If my ppc freezes how can i shutdown it?
5) Do you know where can I find a good software to store my passwords, a freeware software.

1) How can i create a shortcut?


Select the exe (program file), tap and hold > copy; then select the folder in wich you wnat to put the shortcut and tap and hold > paste as shortcut

Select any image (Jpg for example), tap and hold > set as today wallpaper

Maybe it is corrupted or it's very high quality. I sugest you run it through Windows Movie Maker and save it as WMV.


4) If my ppc freezes how can i shutdown it?


Locate a small hole in you device. Insert the stylus there. Wait 30sec. You loose all the info you didn't saved.


5) Do you know where can I find a good software to store my passwords, a freeware software.


You can save it an Pocket Excel file. It has password protection.
You can also use the following freeware:
PassBase (http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/passbase.shtml)
Password Manager (http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/passwordmanagerpdaedition.shtml)

check to make sure you download the pMVP 2k3 version. Even that is only still first release. I would suggest waiting several more days and check the download site again.

Another doubt, do you know a freeware and good software to keep trace of our expenses. I tried HandWallet but it needs a Booster software that is not freeware.

For creating a wallpaper, or rather a theme, you could also use Microsoft Theme Generator 2 (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/resources/downloads/pocketpc/powertoys.mspx) to be able to customize your themes a little more.
