Check out this screen shot. This is while my iPAQ 5555 was cradled, and I had gone to Settings for a moment, and then back to the Today screen:

For being the supreme device that it claims to be, I sure am annoyed with this new iPAQ: Reminder issues
Soft-Reset issues (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=142356)
Display issues like above...And I have not seen a word from HP or MS to acknowledge any bugs of any sort!

Aye, Carumba!

You seem to have really bad luck. My 5555 has been 100% hope things get better for you. Did you have something like microsofts Sync and Go syncing while it was in the cradle? I found that Sync And Go DRAINS!!! the memory. Sems to have a huge leak.

I seem to have equally as bad of a time with my 5450 and the PPC2003, how many bugs did I count, A LOT! what a piece of garbage this new OS is!
T

Anything from mail not opening to alarms not going off, to wireless coming up for no good reason to device freezing when the alarm actually goes off! GARBAGE.

Are you running Pocket Plus? That is known to cause several issues with lockups similar to what you are describing. Myself and several co-workers purchased 2215's and none of us can live with out them now :)

The 5455 itself is a piece of crap. I got one buggy unit, exchanged for another and still bug laden. Returned it eventually to CompUSA and got a 3.1 Mega pixel Nikon Digital Camera with some money to spare.

The 2215 is like the 3900 reborn. Speedy and stable.

Must... not... feed... the... troll!!! Ah, what the heck...

I think there are quite a few h5400 series owners who would disagree with you on that point. My h5455 works like a charm with the exception of some occasional weird charging behavior since the last ROM update. Aside from that it works flawlessly and is, by far, the best Pocket PC I've ever owned. (I've owned several.)

Depending on your point of view, there are problems or flaws in every Pocket PC, even your "3900 reborn." Nothing is perfect for everyone.

you gotta remember, the 5400 was the first of a new generation. I didn't get one for THAT reason. First gen usually have problems.

I agree for a first generation unit - 54xx was far better than 38xx could ever have hoped to be - and I will be the first one to say that I loved it until I stuck the new PPC2003 rom on it. Now it truly is a piece or crap worse than 38xx ever was, so much so that I think I am going to go back to 2002.

My 5400 was running smooth as silk, but being the bleeding-edge addict that I am, I just had to get the 5555!
Aside from the plethora of software issues that the 5555 is having for me, I have also noticed something odd, hardware-wise recently; my screen seems "spungier" on this device than on any other I've owned (3850, 3950, 5400). I noticed it one day while pecking away at the keyboard, and looked that the device sideways and could see a lot of "play" with the screen. I know that it should have some, but it seems to be a bit excessive...
Has anyone else experienced this?

My 3670 that I just recieved on a CarePaq exchange is rather spongy also.

The only problems I have had with my 5555 have been self induced. Of course the fact that a lot of 2002 software has problems runinning on it is a bit of a disappointment. Those things will be fixed in time. :D
